IMPULSAMOS EL DESARROLLO DE NUEVOS PROYECTOS UNIVERSITARIOS GRACIAS AL DETECTOR DE CO2 "DETECO2

WE FOSTER NEW UNIVERSITY PROJECTS WITH THE “DETECO2” CO2 DETECTOR

ORBIS collaborates in innovative engineering projects, such as the one undertaken by a group of students from the Pintor Pedro Gómez High School in Huelva. This project entailed developing an ingenious automatised system to monitor air quality in the classroom, in order to prevent COVID contagion. It has earned them the 2nd prize in the Idea Competition from the Huelva University Higher Technical School of Engineering.

The students worked successfully on this system to remotely monitor and control air quality in the classrooms. The aim was to collect and record all data through the Internet, obtaining real-time information. This way, the automatic mechanisms could be immediately actuated in order to remotely activate air renewal devices (e.g., switching on ventilation systems, opening windows or blinds, etc.) if the CO2 concentration safety thresholds were exceeded.

ORBIS has been involved in this interesting project by lending the work group a DETECO2” CO2 detector. This is an essential device for this project, since it measures CO2 concentration in an enclosed space, issuing a warning when excessive levels are reached and controlling the ventilation systems to remove the risk. Additionally, it provides air temperature and humidity measurements to achieve maximum comfort in the classroom or other rooms.

Given the extremely successful results obtained in the classrooms, the Regional Andalusian Government is fully committed to this system, and will implement it in all Andalusian classrooms in the near future, as well as apply it to other scenarios through KNX, such as, offices, hotels and any other building with multiple spaces to control.

This news had a great impact and was published in the following media: Diario Huelva Información, Onda Cero Radio, and several TV channels: Huelva TV, La Sexta, Teleonuba, Canal Sur Noticias and others.ORBIS would like to sincerely congratulate this group of students for their fantastic project, and in particular, for having trusted our products, using our “DETECO2” CO2  detector to develop the project.
